Supporting riders and events.

Our coaches and volunteers are at the heart of our club.

Coaches

Supporting the development of our coaching and leadership team is an essential part of the success of our club.

We were the first club in Scotland to have Level 1 Coaches qualify at the earlier age of 14/15 as part of a trial run in conjunction with Scottish Cycling in June 2018.

Seven young people undertook the course and have since contributed over 1,000 hours of coaching in the club and the community after all passing with flying colours.

We believe in offering young people the opportunity to develop their coaching and leadership skills, and for them to get involved in developing other riders. These young coaches continue to be a core element of our club, and together with over 20 other coaches and leaders, make up our coaching team who deliver our sessions.

We are always keen to involve those who wish to get involved in coaching, so that we can continue to grow, and to offer more and more opportunities for young people to experience the benefits and enjoyment of cycling.

All our coaches are supported through a coaching pathway, beginning with Level 1, and extending to different levels depending on the discipline, or involvement an individual wishes to pursue. All our coaches and leaders are PVG checked, and we provide them all with the equipment needed to run sessions (First Aid kit, cones, tubes, pumps etc) – except a bike. You’ll need your own bike…

If you’d like to join our team, speak to one of the coaches at a session, or contact us directly.

Volunteers

Together with our coaches, our dedicated volunteers are the heart of our club. Simply put, without them, we would not be able to host the range of events that we do throughout the year.

We host our annual club championships, encouraging all our riders to participate in a fun club day of races and games. We put on a Christmas party, summer events and social rides. And we also play our part in the wider cycling community by hosting both local and national events.

These events all require planning, setting up and taking down in one form or another. From taping race courses to marshalling at events, any time that people can spare is greatly appreciated.

We are forever thankful to those that volunteer their time to help put these events on, and to provide opportunities for riders and young people, but we can never have too many hands helping out.

If you are able to help volunteer in some capacity at our next event, please let us know. We can’t promise good weather, but we can promise a warm welcome.
